Classes for children, teens & adults. No experience needed. First 2 classes completely free.
We’re a small, close-knit club based at Erith Leisure Centre, where parents train alongside their children and complete beginners train alongside experienced martial artists. Classes are capped at 15 students, so everyone gets genuine attention and support.
No hidden fees. No pressure. Just proper martial arts in a genuinely welcoming environment.
Most people arrive looking for one thing — fitness, confidence, or self-defence. What they find is something they didn’t expect: a steady, growing belief in themselves that shows up in school, at work, and in everyday life. That’s what consistently good training does.
Kuk Sool Won™ is a complete Korean martial arts system covering striking, joint locks, throws, weapons training, and mental development — challenging in the right way, and rewarding at every level.
Our school is led by Matt Scott, a 5th Dahn Master who has trained for over 25 years. He founded Kuk Sool Won™ of Erith to bring that kind of transformative training to our local community — and that commitment shows in every class.
We run separate programmes for children, teenagers, and adults — each tailored to the specific challenges and goals of that age group.
Martial arts gives children something screens and classrooms can’t — real confidence built through achievement. Our classes teach self-defence alongside respect, self-control, and teamwork in a fun, supportive setting.
Teenagers face pressures that don’t get easier on their own. Our classes build the kind of confidence, focus, and resilience that actually helps — on the mat and off it.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or have previous martial arts experience, you’re welcome here. Many adults join with a specific goal — fitness, stress relief, self-defence, or just trying something new. Tell us yours and we’ll help you get there.

Not at all. Most of our students are complete beginners when they start. Our instructors will guide you through everything step by step, helping you learn at your own pace in a friendly and supportive environment.
For your first lesson, simply wear comfortable clothing such as a T-shirt and jogging bottoms or leggings. If you decide to continue training, we’ll let you know about the appropriate uniform and equipment.
We offer classes for children, teenagers and adults, with programmes designed to suit different age groups and experience levels. The youngest we take into our children’s class is 7 years old, and there’s no upper age limit for our adult class! Whether you’re looking for your child’s first activity or a new challenge for yourself, we’ll help you find the right class.
Yes — and we actively encourage it. Parents join the same class as their children, learn the same techniques, and earn the same belts. It’s one of the things that makes Kuk Sool Won™ of Erith genuinely different.
Yes. Safety is one of our highest priorities. All classes are led by experienced instructors in a controlled environment, with training tailored to each student’s age, ability and confidence level. We focus on developing skills safely while encouraging respect and self-control.
Booking is quick and easy. Simply complete our online enquiry form or contact our team, and we’ll help you arrange a convenient class. We’ll answer any questions you have before your first visit and make sure you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
Most students reach black belt in around 4 to 6 years, though everyone progresses at their own pace. Gradings take place every three months, and there’s no pressure to rush — the journey is as important as the destination.
Classes are £50 per month for one session per week, or £75 per month for two. There is a one-off £30 joining fee, which covers your uniform and setting up your membership. There are no extra charges for gradings, equipment, or insurance — everything is included.
Your first two classes are completely free. No commitment, no pressure — just come and experience it for yourself.
