To quickly explain our class structure, I run classes every Monday and Wednesday evenings, and once per month I run a class on a Sunday at Erith Leisure Centre.  Every quarter the Sunday classes are gradings (where I assess students for their next belt), and the other months I pick a particular theme and cover that theme in more detail as a way of complimenting the weekly classes.  To give you an idea, previous Sunday class themes have been kicking, self-defence and anti-bullying, and tournament training.  Classes run 47 weeks of the year, pausing for times when I take a family holiday (e.g. Christmas, summer).

There are two price points depending on how often a student wishes to train:

  • £50 per month per student – one class per week (Monday or Wednesday)
  • £75 per month per student – two classes per week (Monday and Wednesday)

Fees are paid through a direct debit.  The monthly fee covers all of the classes and gradings – allowing students to train up to 5 or 9 times per month (assuming 4 weeks per month).  If you wish to cancel (for whatever reason) then you need to give 1 months notice – you’re not tied in for anything longer than 1 month.

Many martial arts schools will charge extra for annual insurance, annual membership fees, quarterly gradings, or for training equipment (eg you’ve now reached the next belt, we’re starting weapons training so you need to buy the weapon). I’m not like that – I try to make our pricing simple for families to budget against! As such all of these are included in your monthly fee. I’ve even planned in the equipment students will need on their journey all the way up to their black belt, so when students are ready I’ll give you your new training equipment – you won’t be asked to buy it yourself or asked for extra money for me to buy it on your behalf.  There are a few exceptions to this, but these are entirely optional or they occur at best every few years.  For example if you want a replacement training uniform (most uniforms last a few years) or if you want to compete in a Kuk Sool Won™ tournament (optional).

I also ask for a one-off additional joining fee of £30 when a student decides to sign up for the direct debit. This covers the initial costs to get you set up so you can train – it covers a training uniform, the first years insurance and membership fees (I keep a small amount of the monthly fees aside to cover insurance and membership for subsequent years which is why this £30 is a one-off cost). This one-off fee is added onto the first months payment, so the first month will be £80 or £105, and subsequent payments will be £50 or £75 thereafter.

BACK TO SCHOOL OFFER – Come for a trial class in August or September and we’ll waive the £30 joining fee if you decide to sign up for regular classes! Sign up now to avoid disappointment.  Spaces are limited.
